Homage to the oldest living thing (I think)

It was discussed that Redwood trees are the oldest living thing in the world. A counter argument was made that there is a fungus that is older. Or maybe it was the fungus that was bigger… I haven’t checked my facts on this.

Anyways, it was a few weeks ago that I rode through the Redwoods–the famous, massive, tourist-magnet Redwoods at least–and I neglected to write a post about them.

But it’s not too late. I saw some Redwoods today in fact, well south of Monterey. They are all over California, many of them unheralded.

So here is my homage:
There is nothing I have to compare to a downhill coasting bike ride through a forest of Redwoods. Nothing.
